Great review!

Very stoked to hear that you are benefitting from barefoot shoes. Running in them requires an adjustment period but I was able to hit 12+ miles with them. The adjustment period for me was pretty painful because my calf muscles were growing a lot in a short amount of time, but once you get over that hump it's really great imo.

I also thought your use of the phrase "traditional medicine" for what I would understand as modern medicine just goes to show how fast things are changing and how you're sort of on the forefront.

I feel like with protein intake, a big issue is that factory farmed meat, by dint of how it is raised, is full of a bunch of unhealthy stuff, stress hormones, waste products, etc. I've worked in organic/regenerative ag and I think that the nutritional differences between regenerative grass-fed grass-finished etc. beef and whatever can be had at the grocery store are so night-and-day. To the point that I see the former as almost poison and the latter as almost superfood. Idk, I also like my sardines.

What's up with Chinese peptides? I keep hearing about them.

I read this a while ago, but since you mentioned statins: What were your thoughts on the suggestion that pretty much everyone who doesn't have side effects should be taking statins to keep CVD risks to a minimum?

I remember asking my PCP for statins and she said no :(
